DODI MOHAMMAD  

Dodi started his fashion journey in 1995 upon being selected to undergo a fashion PR training under the direct tutelage of Prof Dato’ Jimmy Choo OBE in his studio in London. In 1995, Dodi was appointed as the London based fashion correspondent for Malaysian fashion magazines, NONA and RIAS while serving as the Personal Assistant to Dato’ Jimmy Choo. While at Jimmy Choo Couture, Dodi was part of the team handling wardrobe (footwear) for Jimmy Choo Couture main clients namely Kate Winslet, Elaine Paige, HRH Queen Rania of Jordan, HRH Duchess of Kent, HRH Sultanah of Pahang, HRH Queen of Denmark and HRH Princess Alexandra. Last year, while based in Kuala Lumpur, Dodi represented Jimmy Choo Couture to handle the wardrobe coordination for HRH Pangeran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar Hakim Mazhar, the Queen of Brunei and HRH Tuanku Nur Zahirah, the Queen of Malaysia.

In 1998, Dodi was instrumental in handling the foreign press for a press conference for Tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales commemorating her contribution to British Fashion. This press conference was jointly sponsored by Christie’s and the Daily Mail and was held at Christie’s St James’s, London.

Currently, Dodi still represents Jimmy Choo Couture in Kuala Lumpur and has been involved as the main coordinator of many major fashion related events and the producer of multiple fashion shows in Kuala Lumpur. He is also a consultant for Deida Acero, a London based milliner whose clients include HRH Duchess of Westminster, Christina Estrada, Margaret Thatcher, Ibu Dewi Sukarno, Ivana Trump, Ivanka Trump and Shirley Bassey.

  FARIDA OTHMAN  

Farida’s career began in Corporate Communications with Telekom Malaysia. After several years in the field, she began assisting family members and close friends as a wedding planner on a freelance basis. She then established her own event management agency, Laman Sireh Pinang Sdn Bhd, specializing in wedding planning, decoration and event consultation. The company also organized and managed a range of other events, including a property launch for Mutiara Seputeh homes by Hunza, as well as the Meet and Greet service for international press and buyers during the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2006. She was also in charge of organizing caterers and food stall owners for the Gourmand Dinner hosted by malaysia’s Prime Minister in Seri Perdana. Farida’s specialty includes corporate relations and event management.

 
 
 
 
  FAIZAL HAMID  

MOHD FAIZAL BIN ABDUL HAMID or better known as Faizal Hamid has been creating his mark in the fashion industry since 15 years ago. A fashion consultant with a Master’s Degree in Environmental Arts (Fashion) from Syracuse University in New York and a Bachelor’s Degree holder from UitM Shah Alam, Faizal currently lectures in Fashion at UITM besides being a consultant and a freelance fashion writer. His foray in the flamboyant industry has brought him to Paris and New York and the opportunities to work with international fashion houses such as Christian Lacroix, Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. His expertise is very much in demand locally and internationally.

 
 
 
 
  TAN TJIOE JAN

Business Advisory and Consultant

Ms Tan Tjioe Jan who is a Bsc Degree holder from University of San Francisco, USA and a certified Gra duate Gemmologist from Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Santa Monica, USA works as consultant and advisor to several companies and individuals in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar. Besides these countries, she has business ties with Thailand, Hong Kong and the Middle East among other countries.

 
Fashion & Retail

Started work in the jewellery industry, in both retail and manufacturing. Starting in retail, at 22, was appointed manager to oversee the Buying Department at the factory manufacturing the jewellery for the Retail Store.

 
  Responsibilities included buying of gems and readymade Italian jewellery, planning merchandise, overseas marketing to the Middle East and Japan
  Travelled widely representing the firm with buyers, designers and suppliers in various cities including Hong Kong, Thailand, Paris, Milan and Basel
  Was involved in planning and marketing, advertising, PR, events management and promotions for the company
  The organization sold top end jewellery (Je táime Jewellers)
 
Started her own high end concept store selling top brands of lingerie and expanded into resortwear store, established a concessionaire in a major department store and explored mail order catalog business and manufacturing own line at 25.
 
  The company was sold after 5 years with a valuation 5-fold of the original investment
 
Worked as brand and business development manager for luxury fashion lines such as Krizia and Ungaro at the end of the 1980’s. Responsibilities included merchandising, budgeting and targets, marketing and sales, PR and events and promotions including overseas sales in Kuala Lumpur, Brunei and Jakarta.
 
  Was part of the team that brought an international fashion show to Jakarta as a charity event, using local and international models;
  Was part of the team that brought an international fashion show to Bangkok at the Dusit Thani Hotel as a charity event under the auspices and endorsement of the royal Thai family, flying in the collection from Paris and using international models from Europe
